What the Business Days Calculator does

This tool counts how many working days fall between two calendar dates — and unlike a plain weekday counter, it also removes public holidays. Pick a start and end date, and it returns the number of business days along with the total days, the weekends, and the holidays it took out, all counted inclusively. It detects your country automatically and fills in that country’s public holidays, and because every holiday is editable, the figure matches the calendar you actually work to.

It is built for estimating project timelines, delivery windows, notice periods, invoice payment terms, and any planning where weekends and holidays should not count. Freelancers, project managers, HR teams and shippers all need an accurate workday count, not just a Monday-to-Friday tally.

How to use it

  1. Choose your start date and end date.
  2. Check the country — it is detected automatically, but you can pick any of 200+ from the dropdown.
  3. Adjust the weekend days if your week does not rest on Saturday and Sunday.
  4. Review the public holidays filled in for your range. Untick any that do not apply, remove them, or add your own company or local days.
  5. The business days result updates instantly as you change anything.

Why holidays make the difference

A range can contain the same number of weekdays but a very different number of true working days once national holidays are removed. Say you count from a Monday to the Friday two weeks later: that is 11 weekdays, but if two of them are public holidays, the real business-day figure is 9. Getting this right matters for deadlines, payroll and delivery promises.

Because the holiday list is auto-filled but fully editable, you are never locked into one country’s official calendar — add a company shutdown, drop a holiday your office works through, or switch countries entirely.

Private and offline

The holiday data for every country is bundled into the tool, so nothing is fetched from a server and the dates and country you enter stay on your device. It is private, free and needs no sign-up.

Frequently asked questions

How does the calculator count business days?
It counts every day between your two dates, including both ends, then removes the weekend days and any public holidays you have ticked. What is left is the number of business days.
Does it include public holidays?
Yes. It detects your country and fills in that country's public holidays automatically, then subtracts the ones that fall on a working day. You can untick any holiday, remove it, or add your own days, so the count matches your real calendar.
Which country's holidays does it use?
It guesses your country from your browser's language and region, and you can switch to any of 200+ countries from the dropdown. Many countries also have region- or state-specific holidays; when they differ, just edit the list.
Can I change which days are the weekend?
Yes. The weekend defaults to Saturday and Sunday, but you can set any days — useful for countries that rest on Friday and Saturday, or for a six-day working week.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. The holiday database is built into the tool and the whole calculation runs in your browser, so the dates and country you choose never leave your device.
