What the age calculator does
This tool tells you exactly how old you are right now, and a lot more besides. Type in a date of birth and it works out your age in years, months and days, tells you the day of the week you were born, and counts down to your next birthday, showing how many days away it is, which weekday it lands on and which age you will turn. Underneath, it breaks your whole life into total months, weeks, days, hours and minutes, and flags milestones like your next 1,000-day mark and the next milestone birthday such as turning 40. A second Age on date field, set to today by default, lets you find your age, or anyone’s, on any past or future date. It is handy for filling in forms, settling “who’s older” debates, checking eligibility by age, or just satisfying curiosity about a friend, a pet, or a historical figure.
The math is done against the date you choose, so the answer is accurate to the day and refreshes the instant you touch either field.
How to use it
- Open the Date of birth field and choose the birth date from the date picker (or type it in directly).
- That’s it. The results appear instantly, with no button to press. The top line shows your age as years, months and days, alongside the weekday you were born.
- Read on for the countdown to your next birthday, the lifetime totals in months, weeks, days, hours and minutes, and your upcoming milestones.
- To check your age on another day, set the Age on date field (it starts on today). Use a past date to see how old you were at an event, or a future date to see how old you will be. Everything recalculates live as you change it.
To work out someone else’s age, just enter their birth date instead of your own.
Why use this one
It is genuinely instant. There is no account to make, no popup, and nothing to install. Because the whole calculation runs locally in your browser, your birth date never leaves your device, which matters more than people think for a piece of personal data.
