What PDF to Word does

This tool reads the text inside a PDF and hands it back as an editable Word document. Instead of fighting with locked, read-only PDF text, you get plain paragraphs you can rewrite, copy, restyle or paste somewhere else. It is handy when you need to quote a report, reuse a proposal, fix a typo in a file you no longer have the source for, or pull the wording out of a contract for editing.

One thing to know up front: this is a text converter, not a layout cloner. It grabs the words from every page and writes them into a fresh document. Images, multi-column layouts, tables and exact fonts are not carried over. That keeps the result clean and easy to edit.

How to use it

  1. Drag your PDF onto the drop box, or click it to pick a file from your device.
  2. Press Convert. The tool reads each page and collects its text.
  3. Download the Word file when it is ready, then open it in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice and start editing.

There are no settings to fiddle with. Drop, convert, download.

Why convert here

It runs locally in your browser, so your PDF is never uploaded. That matters for invoices, IDs, legal docs and anything you would not email to a stranger. It is free, needs no account, and finishes in seconds because nothing is queued on a server.

Best results come from PDFs that already hold real text (anything you can highlight and copy in a reader). Scanned or photographed pages are images with no text underneath, so they will convert to an empty document. Run those through OCR first.

Tip

Got one big file to handle? This page is perfect. If you regularly process stacks of PDFs at once, the BulkPro desktop app from the same team handles batch jobs on your machine.

Frequently asked questions

Does the PDF to Word converter keep my original layout, images and fonts?
No. This tool pulls the readable text out of each page and drops it into a clean Word document, so you get editable paragraphs rather than a pixel-perfect copy. Columns, images, tables and exact spacing are not preserved. If you mainly need the words so you can edit or reuse them, that is exactly what it gives you.
Will it work on a scanned PDF or a photo saved as PDF?
Only if the PDF already contains real text. Scanned pages are images, so there is no text to extract and the result will come back empty. For scanned files, run them through an OCR tool first to add a text layer, then convert.
Does it output a .docx file?
It produces a .doc file that Microsoft Word, Google Docs, LibreOffice and most editors open without any trouble. Once it is open you can edit it and use Save As to keep it as .docx if you prefer that format.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion happens entirely inside your browser using your own device. Nothing is sent to a server, so private contracts, invoices and reports never leave your computer.
